What is Arizona Cocktail Week?

Arizona Cocktail Week is a week-long celebration of the craft of the cocktail that includes everything from parties, spirit tastings, educational seminars, cocktail competitions, drinks specials, dinners, etc.

So, is it a Drinking Festival?

Absolutely NOT! Yes, we are talking booze and we like to have fun, but we are all about the educational aspect and responsible social drinking, big time. We do work with the liquor board in ensuring everything we do abides by AZ state law and promotes safe and responsible drinking. We also HIGHLY encourage getting the UBER app on your phone to make getting a taxi, hassle-free.

Who runs Arizona Cocktail Week?

It is run by three producers: Kim Haasarud, Damon Scott and Ross Simon along with producing partners: Layla Linn and Tony Giordano. But, there is no way we could do this event with our distributor partners: Alliance Beverage, Southern Wine & Spirits and Young’s Market as well as the dozens of brand ambassadors around the country, our PR Firm Ignite Creative and the countless others who volunteer their time. You know who you are!

Is Arizona Cocktail Week a Non-Profit Organization?

Not yet, but we do partner with the USBG, a non profit organization, the USBG NCF (USBG National Charity Foundation” and C-CAP (Careers through the Culinary Arts Program).  Last year we helped raise over $6,000 for C-CAP and hope to do it again this year through our Chef/Mixologist Storytelling Dinner (will want to include a link here once the ticketing is set up) on February 15th.

Who Attends?

Local enthusiasts; people who like and appreciate a good cocktails and fine spirits. Bartenders and industry professionals; we have some events that are geared specifically for industry and bartenders. Bartenders and enthusiasts, globally; we’ve started to develop a following of bartenders and enthusiasts from around the country and the world as being the premier cocktail event of the Southwest.

Are there literally Events, Seminars and Parties the Entire Week?

The crux of Arizona Cocktail Week takes place the first three days, February 17, 18 and 19th at the Hotel Valley Ho in Old Town Scottsdale. Here, all the educational seminars take place, our signature Cocktail Carnival, Celebrity Chef/Mixologist Storytelling Dinner, Top Bars, Artisanal Spirit & Cocktail Market and Last Slinger Standing cocktail competition.

Friday the 17th through Thursday the 24th is most of our local activations which will include cocktail paired dinners.  Think of it as the cocktail version of restaurant week. One only needs to show up at any of our participating restaurants to take advantage of these great dinners and deals all week long. Check out our “Where to Cocktail & Dine” page for an up-to-date list of participating bars and restaurants.

How much are Tickets?

How is Arizona Cocktail Week different from other Cocktail Events around the Country?

While we are still a small event, we continue to grow every year. We schedule our events so that they do not overlap with each other so everyone can experience everything. We also do this to give our sponsors the attention they deserve. And there is definitely something for everyone. Whether you are a bourbon fanatic, tiki connoisseur, or like to see the “next big thing”, we’ve got you covered.

How did Arizona Cocktail Week begin?

Arizona Cocktail Week was founded in 2012 as a result of our growing cocktail culture and need for awareness in our community as it relates to spirits and the craft of the cocktail.

When do Tickets go on Sale?

The first week in January 2017 on our website.  Tickets can also be purchased on-site at the Arizona Cocktail Week registration desk, February 17th an 18th, 9am – 6pm, in the Sands building at the Hotel Valley Ho. Last year, we sold out nearly every event, so we highly encourage you buy your tickets today!

Do you offer Media or Trade Passes?

We do offer Media passes. Please email our PR firm, MMPR to apply for one. We do offer heavy discounts (sometimes free) for USBG members. If you are a member and want to apply for a USBG discount, go here.

What is the USBG and can anyone join?

The USBG (United States Bartenders Guild) is a non-profit organization. While many bartenders are members, you do not have to be a bartender to be a member. Many members include cocktail & spirit enthusiasts and other industry professionals. Click here to join »
